How the Idaho draw works
Idaho controlled hunts are a pure random draw — there are no preference or bonus points at all. Every first-choice applicant has the same chance, whether it's their first year applying or their twentieth.
Nonresidents are capped at 10% of the tags in any hunt, so resident and nonresident odds are shown separately — set your residency first. Deer and elk also have a separate nonresident general-season tag draw, listed alongside the controlled hunts.
Because there are no points, the odds here are simply last year's tags divided by applicants. They're a strong guide, but every year's draw is independent and random.
