huntNotes

Built by a hunter, for hunters and anglers who take their time in the field seriously.

About the Developer

huntNotes was built by a hunter, not a tech company trying to figure hunters out.

My name is Andy Mize.

I am a Kentucky born outdoorsman and a software developer with over six years of experience building modern applications. I grew up chasing whitetails and turkey in the hardwoods, hunting squirrels after school, and setting up on ducks at first light. Hunting and fishing have never been hobbies to me. They are part of who I am.

The Problem I Faced

About eight years ago I started traveling west to hunt elk and other western game. That is when I realized something. I had years of memories but no organized data. I could not easily compare seasons, track patterns, or truly learn from previous hunts beyond what I remembered.

The Solution I Built

So I built the tool I wished I had. huntNotes started as a personal project. It was a way to track every hunt and fishing trip, gather weather and river data, document patterns, and compare insights year after year. It became a system that helped me stay organized, plan smarter, and recognize what was actually working.

Why huntNotes Works

Over time it grew into something bigger. huntNotes is built by someone who understands early mornings, shifting winds, rising rivers, and the difference between a good hunt and a great one. It is designed to help serious outdoorsmen turn experience into data, and data into better seasons.

This is not just an app. It is the journal I always needed.
